Strengthen Supply Chain
We have organized "Business Briefing" to our main suppliers twice a year in order to create mutual understanding and build trust relationships with suppliers, which leads to the stable and continuous business activity. In "Business Briefing", we explain the quality, cost, delivery and request issues related to CSR procurement starting with business plans of our each business units.
Additionally, we grasp the initiatives on CSR and then further promote the activities by asking our suppliers to take an annually CSR survey aiming to increase awareness of CSR in supply chain.
At the same time, "Request for enhancing compliance" is given in writing to bolster compliance among the entire supply chain.

How we deal with conflict minerals
Conflict minerals are mined mainly in the Congo Republic and surrounding areas and are used as funding sources for antigovernment armed groups. The 4 main conflict minerals are tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold. In January 2013, according to the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, 1,502 articles concerning conflict minerals were enforced. According to this act, companies listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange are required to report on conflict minerals usage in their products.
Our company is not directly obligated according to this act but based on annual requests from our customers to report the situation, we ask our suppliers to check on the usage of conflict minerals and refinery(smelting) works and we report these results to our customers.
In the future, we will continue to cooperate with our suppliers on clarifying the situation regarding existence of conflict minerals within the supply chain and will make efforts to remove conflict materials from our products.
